Harveen Thauli was called to the Bar of British Columbia on August 30, 1996. She has extensive experience providing legal counsel and transactional expertise in private practice and regulatory environments, including investigations, professional conduct, administrative law, civil and commercial litigation, corporate and securities law.
Harveen was elected as the first Canadian to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) Tribunal in Lausanne, Switzerland on November 21, 2017. The FEI is the international governing body of equestrian sports. Tribunal members hear and decide on cases related to breaches of sport rules, statutes and regulations. They have the authority to issue fines, disqualify horses or riders from competitions or events, and suspend horses or riders for any period of time up to and including life suspensions.
Harveen is listed as a lawyer for the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. She has a particular interest in representing sports clients in anti-doping proceedings and helping them to avoid other potential rule violations.
